I love this idea from the I'm Topsy Turvy blog on how to make your own cake stand. I decided to set out to find the materials at our local Deseret Industries. Instead I found this large candle holder that works perfectly. All I did was spray paint it with a glossy white paint. The nice thing is I can switch out the plate. I am going to use this one to hold cupcakes at my baby's first birthday party!
I think that is an awesome idea. I might just try this one.
