Some of you were interested in learning how to paint furniture. So I made you a little step-by-step guide on how I did my dresser.
Originally I was planning on refinishing the dresser. However, after doing the top, I decided I was in way over my head. The nice thing about painting is when you sand, you don't have to remove all of the finish. You just need the surface to be a little rough so the paint sticks well. Before you start, make sure your furniture is made out of some sort of wood (solid, compressed, ply, etc.). If it is plastic or metal you can still paint it but I recommend spray paint that says it is made for that material. Also, I would recommend a nice brush. I have never bought one but I have used one and it really does make a difference. For my next painting project, I want to buy a Purdy brush from Lowe's.It does take time but it is so worth it in the end. Is this helpful? Any questions or additional tips?
